How do I get my picture to you?

You may fax it to 1-203-261-1456- (FAX ONLY), email it to: lee@totallyoutofhand.com or send it regular mail to 12 Halley Court, Fairfield, CT 06825. We will contact you upon receipt of your drawing the same day that we receive it to discuss all of the details for your piece. You should also go to our secure order form page and fill out all of the necessary information for your fax or your email image. Remember to include your phone number! If we do not call you, we did not receive your drawing!

Can I have my pin made in 14K Gold?

Sure, Child Artwork Pins^TM look great in gold. Send us your image by fax or email, and we will then call you with a price. Each gold pin is figured by it's weight. You may also request brass or copper to be used for accents. Gold pins are not returnable.

How large will my piece be?

The size of your pin is up to you. Are you a larger person or small? We can decide on the best size for your pin together. Usually the best size is 2" to 3" tall, but each drawing is individual. The best size pin or pendant is the one that you feel most comfortable wearing.

How long will it take to receive my pin or pendant?

Once we receive your drawing, call you back to confirm the details, and receive payment, your pin will be on your way to you in about three weeks. Christmas and Mother's Day are a very busy time for us, please allow for extra time during these months. Holiday orders need to be placed early, we never know from year to year just how long the wait will be. Of course special rush requests will be considered. Please ask for details upon ordering. Orders received (and taken if possible) after November 20th will need to be shipped by Federal Express at a rate of $15.00 per pin.

If I have more than one child, how will I remember which child drew my pin, and how old he/she was when the drawing was done?

Your pin will be hand engraved on the back with your child's name and date, if you so specify, at no extra charge.

Will the pin tarnish?

Yes, sterling silver will always tarnish, but a polishing cloth and a anti-tarnish cloth pouch will be include with each pin. You may also mail your pin back to us at anytime for a repolish at no extra charge. Just enclose $6.00 for shipping the pin back to you.

We can spray your pin with a tarnish preventative, although it does leave a slight "haze" on the piece, please inquire.

What kind of backing is on the pin?

All Child Artwork Pins^TM have a traditional "pin/bar back" made out of Sterling Silver. You may also request a loop on the back of your pin, so the pin can be worn as a pendant as well.

Will any drawing work? Does the drawing have to be a certain size?

Any drawing will work and the size does not matter. Remember to pick a drawing that has special meaning to you, or one that you really like. A drawing made with thin markers, pencil or pen works best.

How do I pay for my pin?

Our preferred method of payment is by visa or mastercard on our secure order form (you may also call us with this information) You may also pay by check, Paypal, or Postal Money Order. Checks should be made out to Lee Skalkos. Shipping is $6.00 per pin. CT residents must add 6% sales tax.

Can I return my pin if I am not satisfied?

No your piece can not be returned, you are ordering a custom piece of art. Please keep in mind that I need to re-create your drawing using metal sheet and wire. There are limitations to what the metal will do, also, very small pieces are extremely hard to duplicate in a small size. Please remember this when ordering charms and small pieces of jewelry. The larger the piece and the cleaner and simpler the drawing, the better the outcome.

Will I get my drawing back?

No, please do not mail us original art that is very special to you, make a xerox and mail that instead. Of course, you may mail us the original, but we are not responsible for missing or lost artwork. Your artwork or photo's will not be returned.

Can my pin be shipped out of the country?

Yes, we do ship internationally. We will let you know the additional cost when we receive your order, usually it is extremely reasonable, with most shipments costing no more than $15.00 per box.
